This kimono by komon artist Katsumasa has a chic monotone look from a distance, but when you get closer you can see the extremely intricate patterns created by stencil dyeing. The intricate patterns, which look like tie-dyes, are proof that the craftsman used stencils to carefully dye the kimono. As the signature and seal show, the kimono is full of attention to detail in hand-made work.
